ALBANY, N.Y. (Interstat) — A pivotal America East women’s basketball matchup arrives Saturday at SEFCU Arena as the surging Binghamton Bearcats visit the Albany Great Danes seeking a regular-season sweep. The Bearcats (17-7, 9-2 America East) enter with the conference’s best record, having won five of their last six games. Their lone recent setback was a 52-61 road loss at Vermont on Thursday. Albany (12-12, 4-7) looks to halt a four-game skid and improve its seeding for the upcoming conference tournament. Binghamton’s success is fueled by forward Kendall Bennett, who has been dominant. Over her last seven games, Bennett is averaging 15.6 points and 7.3 rebounds, including a 22-point, 13-rebound performance in a win over NJIT on Feb. 7. She will be the focal point for a Bearcats offense that won the season’s first meeting, 63-61, on Jan. 15. Albany counters with guard Julia Palomo, a key facilitator who logged 40 minutes in their last outing, a 45-58 loss at UMass Lowell on Feb. 7. The Great Danes will need more offensive production from her and forward Amaya Stewart, who scored 23 points in that defeat, to challenge the conference leaders. The game carries significant implications for the America East standings. A win would solidify Binghamton’s hold on first place, while a home victory for Albany would provide a crucial boost to its postseason positioning. The Bearcats have shown resilience in close games, including an overtime win at Bryant on Jan. 29, whereas the Great Danes have struggled in low-scoring affairs, losing three of their last four games while failing to reach 50 points. Tip-off is set for Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at SEFCU Arena. Albany will look to defend its home court and avenge January’s narrow loss, while Binghamton aims to continue its march toward a regular-season title.
