Preview: Army Hosts American in Patriot League Women’s Basketball WEST POINT, N.Y. (Interstat) — A stark contrast in seasons will be on display Saturday when the Army women’s basketball team hosts American in a Patriot League matchup at Christl Arena. The Black Knights (19-5 overall), firmly atop the conference standings, enter on a three-game winning streak following a 69-62 victory at Boston University on Wednesday. The visiting Eagles (6-18) seek to halt a three-game skid, most recently a 79-51 home loss to Lehigh on the same night. Army, which has won 10 of its last 12 games, defeated American 63-56 in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 17. Reese Ericson led the Black Knights with 17 points in that contest. The guard has been a consistent force, averaging 15.3 points over her last six games, including a 19-point performance against Boston U. American will look to guard Madisyn Moore-Nicholson to keep pace. She scored a team-high 15 points in the first meeting and matched that total in Wednesday’s loss to Lehigh. Over her last five games, she is averaging 11.2 points. The Black Knights’ defense has been a cornerstone of their success, holding opponents to an average of 52.1 points during their current win streak. They stifled Colgate 59-35 on Feb. 4. American has struggled offensively, failing to reach 60 points in seven of its last nine games. Army’s balanced attack features Ericson alongside Camryn Tade, who had 17 points and four assists against Boston University. American’s supporting cast, including Molly Driscoll (13 points vs. Lehigh), will need to provide additional scoring to challenge the league leaders. The game tips off at 1 p.m. EST on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026. Army continues its homestand against Loyola Maryland on Wednesday, while American returns home to face Bucknell on Feb. 18.
