HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (Interstat) — A surging Alabama A&M women’s basketball team looks to continue its climb in the Southwestern Athletic Conference standings when it hosts Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, at T.M. Elmore Gymnasium. The Bulldogs (13-9 overall) have won six consecutive games, their latest a 56-54 road victory at Southern on Feb. 7. Guard Kaila Walker has been instrumental in the streak, averaging 14.8 points over the last six contests. She scored 15 points with four assists in the win over Southern. They will face a UAPB squad that has found recent momentum of its own. The Lady Golden Lions (9-12) have won three of their last four, including a 64-60 home win against Alcorn State on Feb. 7. Forward Khaniah Gardner grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds in that victory, part of a consistent stretch where she has averaged 9.4 points over her last seven games. The matchup is a swift rematch of a Jan. 3 meeting in Pine Bluff, which Alabama A&M dominated, 72-49. In that game, the Bulldogs’ defense stifled UAPB, holding them to 30.2% shooting from the field. Alabama A&M’s resurgence has been built on defense, holding opponents to an average of 50.2 points during its six-game win streak. Alongside Walker, forward Jaida Belton provides a strong interior presence, coming off a nine-point, nine-rebound performance against Southern. UAPB will counter with a more balanced attack. In the win over Alcorn State, Jailah Pelly scored 20 points and Indiya Bowen added 15. Gardner’s work on the glass will be critical against a physical Bulldogs frontcourt. A victory would solidify Alabama A&M’s position in the upper tier of the SWAC, while UAPB aims to prove its recent form is a true turnaround and avenge its earlier loss. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CST.
