LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference will meet Thursday when the Rider Broncs host the Saint Peter’s Peacocks in a women’s basketball matchup at Alumni Gymnasium. The game, scheduled for Feb. 12, 2026, features programs with nearly identical struggles this season. Saint Peter’s enters at 6-17 overall, while Rider sits just a game behind at 5-18. Both are looking to build on rare recent victories. The Peacocks won the first meeting this season, 55-46 at home on Jan. 24. Saint Peter’s forward Carys Roy contributed 8 points and 6 rebounds in that victory. Roy has been a standout lately, posting a 20-point game in a win over Mount Saint Mary’s on Jan. 31 and another 20-point effort in a loss to Siena on Feb. 5. Most remarkably, in a narrow 53-56 loss at Marist on Feb. 7, Roy hauled in 19 rebounds to go with 5 points. Rider’s path has been similarly difficult, though it snapped a five-game skid with a 71-60 home win over Manhattan on Feb. 5. Guard Aliya McIver was instrumental in that victory, scoring a season-high 31 points. McIver, who had 10 points and 6 rebounds in the first loss to Saint Peter’s, will be a primary focus for the Broncs’ offense. Rider is coming off a tough 37-73 road loss at Merrimack on Feb. 7, where McIver was held to 8 points. For Saint Peter’s, consistency beyond Roy will be key. Louella Allana and Layla Laws provided support in the recent close call at Marist. Rider will need more offensive production to supplement McIver after being held under 40 points in two of its last four contests. The rematch offers Rider a chance for home-court revenge and both teams an opportunity to climb out of the conference cellar. Tipoff is set for Thursday night in Lawrence Township.
