CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (Interstat) — The Austin Peay Governors look to snap a four-game skid when they host the Queens (N.C.) Royals in a non-conference women’s basketball matchup on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, at the Winfield Dunn Center. Austin Peay (13-9) enters having lost close contests in its recent slide, including a 67-60 defeat at Eastern Kentucky on Saturday. The Governors have been led by the consistent play of guard Jim’Miyah Branton, who nearly posted a triple-double in that loss with 13 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. Over her last four games, Branton is averaging 14 points and 5.3 assists. Queens (8-15) seeks to end a six-game losing streak of its own, most recently falling 71-55 to North Alabama on Saturday. The Royals have struggled offensively during the stretch, failing to reach 65 points in any of the six losses. Forward Hannah Hicks provides a bright spot, coming off a nine-point, nine-rebound performance against North Alabama and leading the team in scoring in two of the last five games. The Governors hold a distinct advantage in record and are 8-3 at home this season, while the Royals are just 2-9 in road games. Austin Peay’s offense, averaging over 66 points per game, will test a Queens defense that has allowed 71 points per contest during its losing streak. This game is the first of a two-game homestand for Austin Peay, which hosts West Georgia on Saturday. Queens continues a road swing at Lipscomb on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST.
