Preview: Howard Looks to Continue Surge at Struggling Delaware State LEIPSIC, Del. (Interstat) — A surging Howard women’s basketball team will visit a struggling Delaware State squad in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference matchup on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, at Memorial Hall. The Howard Lady Bison (17-7, 7-1 MEAC) enter on a five-game winning streak, having most recently routed South Carolina State 85-66 on Feb. 7. They sit near the top of the conference standings. The Delaware State Hornets (4-19, 1-7), meanwhile, have lost four straight and nine of their last ten. They are coming off a 58-44 road loss to North Carolina Central on Monday. Howard’s success is fueled by forward Zennia Thomas, who has been dominant during the win streak. She is averaging 16.8 points and 7.8 rebounds over the last five games, including a 20-point, 9-rebound performance against South Carolina State and a 22-point, 5-assist outing at Coppin State on Jan. 22. For Delaware State, guard Jermesha Frierson has been a consistent contributor, scoring 13 points in three of her last four games while averaging 36 minutes per contest during that stretch. She will need a significant performance to challenge the Lady Bison. The teams met earlier this season on Jan. 8 in Washington, D.C., with Howard securing a 73-63 victory. The Lady Bison have not lost since Jan. 10, while the Hornets’ only conference win came against South Carolina State on Jan. 22. Howard’s balanced attack, which also features productive players like Ariella Henigan and Nile Miller, will be heavily favored against a Delaware State team that has struggled to score, failing to reach 60 points in six of its last seven games. The game tips off at 5:30 p.m. EST. Howard will host Maryland-Eastern Shore on Saturday, Feb. 14. Delaware State travels to face Norfolk State on the same day.
