Preview: Florida A&M Lady Rattlers at Alcorn State Lady Braves ALCORN STATE, Miss. (Interstat) — The Alcorn State Lady Braves will look to complete a regular-season sweep and solidify their position in the Southwestern Athletic Conference standings when they host the Florida A&M Lady Rattlers on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, at the Davey Whitney Complex. The Lady Braves (11-10 overall) enter the matchup holding a winning record and riding momentum from a strong January, despite a 60-64 road loss at Arkansas-Pine Bluff in their last outing on Feb. 7. They previously defeated the Lady Rattlers 61-48 in Tallahassee on Jan. 24, a game in which standout guard Kiarra Henderson posted a near triple-double with 13 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists. Henderson remains the focal point for Alcorn State. She is coming off a 20-point, eight-rebound, five-assist performance in the loss to UAPB and has been a consistent all-around force. Her versatility will be key against a Florida A&M backcourt that has shown recent signs of life. The Lady Rattlers (7-15) have won two of their last three games, including an 86-73 victory over Texas Southern on Feb. 7 where they posted their highest scoring total in weeks. Guard Tahnyjia Purifoy led the way with 19 points and four assists in that win, continuing a stretch of elevated play. In the Jan. 24 loss to Alcorn State, Purifoy scored 14 points and dished five assists. Florida A&M’s recent offensive uptick, averaging 77 points over its last two wins, will be tested by an Alcorn State defense that held them to 48 points in the first meeting. The Lady Braves have held opponents under 60 points in five of their last nine games. For Alcorn State, maintaining its defensive discipline and controlling the glass will be paramount. For Florida A&M, finding secondary scoring beyond Purifoy to counter Henderson’s multifaceted game is essential for avenging the earlier defeat. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. CST at Alcorn State’s Davey Whitney Complex. The game is part of the SWAC women’s basketball schedule.
