(Interstat) — Two teams seeking momentum in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference will meet Thursday when the South Carolina State Bulldogs host the Coppin State Eagles in a women’s basketball matchup at SHM Memorial Center. The contest features teams with struggling overall records. Coppin State enters at 7-18, while South Carolina State is 5-17. Both squads are looking to build on sporadic conference success this season. Coppin State arrives with some confidence after an 83-59 home victory over Delaware State on Saturday. The Eagles have won three of their last four games, including conference wins over Morgan State and Washington Adventist. A key factor for the Eagles is guard Khila Morris, who is coming off a dominant performance. In the win over Delaware State, Morris scored 24 points and dished out six assists in 31 minutes. Over her last three games, all victories, she has averaged 17.7 points and 6.0 assists per contest. South Carolina State looks to snap a three-game skid, most recently an 85-66 road loss to Howard on Saturday. In that game, guard Lemyiah Harris led the Bulldogs with 23 points. She will be a primary scoring option for the home team, having tallied 23 points in 39 minutes against a tough Howard defense. The Bulldogs won the season’s first meeting, defeating Coppin State 58-47 in Baltimore on Jan. 8. South Carolina State will aim to secure the regular-season sweep. Beyond the star guards, Coppin State’s Erin Henry (18 points vs. Delaware State) and South Carolina State’s Shaunice Reed (16 points vs. Howard) provide secondary scoring threats. Tipoff is set for Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, in Orangeburg. The game is part of a tight MEAC schedule as the regular season enters its final weeks. Coppin State visits North Carolina Central on Saturday, while South Carolina State hosts North Carolina Central next Wednesday.
