Preview: Struggling ACC Teams Meet as Boston College Visits Florida State TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking to end prolonged slumps will meet Thursday when the Boston College Eagles visit the Florida State Seminoles in an Atlantic Coast Conference women’s basketball matchup. The game at Donald L. Tucker Center pits a pair of programs with a combined 12-38 record. Florida State (8-16, 3-10 ACC) snapped a three-game losing streak with an 87-70 home win over Miami on Sunday. Boston College (4-22, 0-13) arrives on a 13-game skid, most recently a 59-83 loss at Clemson on Feb. 8. The Seminoles will rely on forward Tatum Greene, who is coming off a season-high 22 points and seven rebounds in the victory over Miami. Over her last five games, Greene is averaging 9.8 points and 5.6 rebounds. For the Eagles, guard Erin Houpt has been a bright spot during the difficult season. She leads the team in scoring in ACC play and is averaging 12.8 points over her last four contests, including an 18-point performance against North Carolina State on Jan. 29. Florida State won the season’s first meeting, 78-65, in Chestnut Hill on Jan. 29, 2025. In that game, Seminoles guard Solè Williams scored 21 points, while Houpt led Boston College with 17. Both teams have struggled defensively, ranking near the bottom of the conference in scoring defense. Boston College allows a league-worst 80.2 points per game in ACC play, while Florida State surrenders 76.5. The Seminoles will look to build momentum before a difficult stretch that includes games at Louisville and home against California and Stanford. The Eagles continue their search for their first conference win before hosting Miami on Sunday. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
