Preview: Tulsa Women’s Basketball at South Florida TAMPA, Fla. (Interstat) — Two American Athletic Conference teams trending in opposite directions will meet Wednesday night when the Tulsa Golden Hurricane visit the South Florida Bulls at the Sun Dome. Tulsa (16-7) looks to rebound from a disappointing home loss, while South Florida (14-10) aims to build on its most dominant conference win of the season. The Golden Hurricane enter having lost two of their last three, including a 66-47 defeat to Texas-San Antonio on Saturday where they shot just 28.8% from the field. Tulsa will rely on forward Jade Clack to provide a spark. Clack is coming off a 17-point, 12-rebound performance in a double-overtime win over Memphis on Jan. 31 and has scored in double figures in four of her last seven games. South Florida, meanwhile, is riding high after an 85-53 rout of Tulane on Saturday. The Bulls’ offense was fueled by guard Stefanie Ingram, who nearly posted a double-double with 14 points and nine assists. Ingram has dished out at least six assists in three of her last five contests, serving as the primary facilitator for a Bulls squad that has won three of its last four. Defensive consistency will be key for Tulsa, which had held four straight opponents under 65 points before the UTSA loss. Containing Ingram’s playmaking and limiting second-chance opportunities will be focal points. For South Florida, maintaining the offensive efficiency displayed against Tulane, where they shot 50% from the field and assisted on 24 of 33 made baskets, will be critical against a Tulsa team that has been strong defensively for much of conference play. The matchup is the only scheduled meeting between the programs this regular season. Wednesday’s result will impact the middle of the AAC standings as both teams jockey for postseason positioning. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. EST.
