NORFOLK, Va. (Interstat) — The Old Dominion Lady Monarchs look to build on a winning streak when they host the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers in a Sun Belt Conference women’s basketball matchup Wednesday night at the Constant Convocation Center. Old Dominion (15-10) enters on a two-game win streak following a 72-61 victory at Louisiana-Lafayette and an 84-76 road win at Ohio on Saturday. The Lady Monarchs are 9-3 at home this season. Coastal Carolina (11-14) seeks to end a three-game skid, most recently an 82-93 loss at Bowling Green on Saturday. The Chanticleers are 4-7 in road games. The game features two of the conference’s top scorers. Old Dominion is led by guard En’Dya Buford, who is coming off a dominant 26-point, 8-rebound performance against Ohio. Over her last eight games, Buford is averaging 17.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.6 assists. For Coastal Carolina, guard Tessa Grady has been on a scoring tear, averaging 21.6 points over her last seven contests. She poured in 21 points in the loss to Bowling Green and has scored 24 or more points in three of her last five outings. In their most recent meeting last season, Old Dominion defeated Coastal Carolina 78-65 on Feb. 22, 2025. The teams are scheduled for a rematch in Conway, South Carolina, on Saturday. Following this contest, Old Dominion hosts James Madison on Saturday. Coastal Carolina travels to face Georgia Southern on Saturday.
