Preview: Kansas Jayhawks at Texas Tech Lady Raiders LUBBOCK, Texas (Interstat) — A surging but inconsistent Kansas team faces its toughest Big 12 road test of the season Tuesday night, visiting the seventh-ranked Texas Tech Lady Raiders at United Spirit Arena. The matchup pits teams on opposite ends of the conference standings. Texas Tech (22-3 overall) enters as one of the nation’s elite, boasting a dominant 11-1 record at home this season. Kansas (15-10) seeks a resume-defining victory, having alternated wins and losses in its last six contests. The Jayhawks are coming off an 80-71 home victory over Cincinnati on Saturday, powered by a stellar performance from junior guard Jaliya Davis. Davis has been on a scoring tear, averaging 25.4 points over her last seven games, including a 28-point effort against the Bearcats. Support from S’Mya Nichols (16 points, six assists) and Lilly Meister (14 points, three blocks) will be crucial against Tech’s stout defense. The Lady Raiders, however, present a formidable challenge. They are fresh from an emphatic 85-61 road win at Houston, where guard Bailey Maupin scored 25 points. Maupin, a senior leader, averages 16.1 points per game and provides steady backcourt play. Tech’s strength lies in its balance; in the win over Houston, Gemma Nunez dished out seven assists and Jalynn Bristow added four blocks. Kansas’s road form has been shaky, with notable losses at TCU and Arizona State this season. Containing Texas Tech’s offensive efficiency, particularly in transition, will be paramount. The Lady Raiders have won games by an average margin of 18.2 points at home this season. This marks the first of two scheduled meetings between the schools this month. They are slated for a rematch in Lawrence on Feb. 25. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CST Tuesday. The game will be broadcast on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
