Preview: Florida Atlantic at Wichita State in Women’s Basketball WICHITA, Kan. (Interstat) — Two American Athletic Conference teams looking to build on rare recent victories will meet Tuesday when the Florida Atlantic Owls visit the Wichita State Shockers at Charles Koch Arena. The Owls (10-13) snapped a three-game skid with a 68-63 home win over UAB on Saturday. The Shockers (5-19) have lost three straight but are coming off one of their more competitive performances in an 81-72 loss at Charlotte on Feb. 7. Florida Atlantic will rely on the hot hand of guard Erin Rodgers, who is averaging 18.3 points over her last three games. She exploded for 25 points in 27 minutes in the win over UAB. Rodgers also scored 23 points in a loss at North Texas on Jan. 31. Wichita State counters with guard Jaila Harding, who has shouldered a heavy scoring load. She is averaging 22.5 points over her last two contests, including a 24-point effort in a loss to Tulsa on Feb. 3 and 21 points at Charlotte. The teams met earlier this season in Boca Raton, Fla., on Jan. 13, with Florida Atlantic securing a decisive 88-64 victory. Rodgers had 8 points in that contest for FAU, while Harding was held to 3 points for Wichita State. Both squads have struggled for consistency in conference play. The Owls’ win over UAB was just their second in the last seven games. The Shockers have only two wins since the calendar turned to 2026, coming against East Carolina and Memphis in late January. For Florida Atlantic, finding secondary scoring behind Rodgers will be key. Vivian Onugha provided a boost with 10 points and seven rebounds against UAB. Wichita State will need more production from its supporting cast around Harding, such as Abby Cater and Bre’Yon White, who combined for 22 points in the Charlotte game. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CST Tuesday. The Owls will host Tulsa on Saturday, while the Shockers travel to face Rice on Friday.
