Bowling Green (12-11) enters on the heels of a 93-82 nonconference victory over Coastal Carolina on Saturday. The Falcons have shown inconsistency in MAC play but remain in the hunt, relying on balanced scoring and defensive effort. A key recent spark has been provided by Joniyah Bland-Fitzpatrick, who erupted for 21 points in just 16 minutes off the bench in the win over Coastal Carolina. Her efficiency will be a factor against Buffalo’s defense. Buffalo (2-21) seeks to end a prolonged slump, having lost 11 consecutive games. Their most recent defeat was a 73-64 home loss to Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday. Despite the team’s record, guard Aniya Rowe has been a consistent bright spot, averaging 20.1 points over her last eight games. She scored 34 points against Kent State on Jan. 24 and followed with 25 points and five assists against Central Michigan on Feb. 4. Containing Rowe will be a primary focus for the Falcons’ defense. The Bulls have struggled defensively, allowing 90 or more points in three of their last five games. They will need a collective effort beyond Rowe, with contributors like Meg Lucas and Diann Jackson, who combined for 29 points and 15 rebounds in the loss to Louisiana-Monroe, to step up on the road. This is the first meeting between the programs this season.
