Preview: Arizona Wildcats at Cincinnati Bearcats CINCINNATI (Interstat) — Two Big 12 women’s basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Tuesday night when the Arizona Wildcats visit the Cincinnati Bearcats at Fifth Third Arena. Arizona (11-12) arrives after an 87-68 road loss at West Virginia on Saturday. The Wildcats have lost four of their last five games. Cincinnati (8-16) has dropped three straight, including an 80-71 defeat at Kansas on Saturday. The matchup features two of the conference’s standout guards in recent weeks. Arizona will rely on Tanyuel Welch, who scored 17 points in 34 minutes against West Virginia. Over her last seven games, Welch is averaging 10.4 points and has logged significant minutes, including a 40-minute outing against TCU on Jan. 17. For the Bearcats, guard Mya Perry has been on a scoring tear. She poured in 25 points against Kansas and 20 against Baylor last week, averaging 21.5 points over her last four contests. Her 24-point effort in a Jan. 14 overtime win at UCF remains a season highlight. While both teams have struggled in the win column, their previous meeting this season was a narrow 66-64 home victory for Cincinnati over Arizona State on Jan. 24, a game in which Perry contributed 12 points. Arizona’s recent road form has been challenging, with losses in four of its last five away games. Cincinnati has found some success at home, notching two of its three conference wins at Fifth Third Arena. The Wildcats will look to players like Blessing Adebanjo, who had six points, six rebounds and four blocks against West Virginia, and Daniah Trammell (15 points) to provide support for Welch. Cincinnati will counter with Caliyah DeVillasee, who is coming off an 18-point performance at Kansas. Tuesday’s game is the only scheduled meeting between the programs this regular season. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST.
