Preview: Elon Phoenix at North Carolina A&T Aggies GREENSBORO, N.C. (Interstat) ā The Elon Phoenix visit the North Carolina A&T Aggies in a Coastal Athletic Association womenās basketball rematch Friday at Corbett Sports Center. Elon (10-11) won the first meeting 67-60 at home on Jan. 23. The Phoenix have won two of their last three, including a 68-54 victory over Towson on Sunday. North Carolina A&T (8-12) snapped a two-game skid with a 62-57 road win at Hampton on Sunday. A key matchup will feature two of the conferenceās top guards. Elonās Laila Anderson enters on a hot streak, averaging 17.8 points over her last six games. She scored 16 points with six rebounds and four assists in the win over Towson. In the Jan. 23 win over the Aggies, Anderson finished with 15 points. North Carolina A&T will counter with Paris Locke, who is coming off an 18-point performance at Hampton. Locke logged 37 minutes in that contest and has been a workhorse, playing 39 or more minutes in three of the Aggiesā last five games. She was held to six points in the first meeting with Elon. The Phoenix have relied on balanced contributions. In the Towson win, Tyana Walker added 15 points and seven rebounds, while Quinzia Fulmore posted eight points and 10 rebounds. For the Aggies, Chaniya Clark provides a secondary scoring threat, adding 13 points in the Hampton victory. Both teams are looking to build momentum in the final month of the regular season. Elon seeks its first three-game winning streak since late December. North Carolina A&T aims to protect its home court and even the season series. Tip-off is set for Friday, Feb. 6, 2026.
