Preview: William & Mary at Towson in Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Basketball TOWSON, Md. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking consistency in the Colonial Athletic Association race will meet Friday when the William & Mary Tribe visit the Towson Tigers at SECU Arena. William & Mary (11-9) enters on the heels of a strong offensive performance, defeating UNC Wilmington 79-68 on Sunday. The Tribe have alternated wins and losses over their past six games. Towson (12-9) looks to snap a four-game skid, most recently a 68-54 loss at Elon on Sunday. The matchup features a key contrast in backcourt momentum. William & Mary is led by guard Alexa Mikeska, who is coming off a near triple-double with 16 points, nine rebounds and six assists against UNCW. Over her last three games, Mikeska has averaged 12.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 6.3 assists. She is complemented by guards Cassidy Geddes (18 points Sunday) and Monet Dance (15 points). Towson’s recent struggles have coincided with limited production from guard Shariah Baynes, a player to watch for the Tigers. After scoring in double figures in four straight games in late December, Baynes has averaged just 2.5 points over her last five contests, playing 18 minutes or fewer in each. In the first meeting between these programs this season, scheduled for Feb. 15 in Williamsburg, Va., this contest offers a tactical preview. William & Mary’s offense, which has scored 79 and 63 points in its last two victories, will test a Towson defense that has allowed an average of 61.5 points during its losing streak. The Tigers will rely on forwards Thalia Shepard and Semaya Turner to control the interior. Shepard had nine points and six rebounds against Elon, while Turner added eight points and seven boards. Historically, the home team has held an advantage in this series. Towson will aim to protect its home court and stabilize its conference standing, while William & Mary seeks to build its first winning streak of 2026. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. EST Friday. The game will be broadcast on FloHoops.
