Preview: Brown Bears at Dartmouth Big Green HANOVER, N.H. (Interstat) — Ivy League positioning will be on the line Friday night when the Brown Bears visit the Dartmouth Big Green in a women’s basketball matchup at Leede Arena. Brown (11-6 overall) enters the contest looking to rebound from a 58-49 home loss to Princeton last Saturday. The Bears had won three straight prior to that defeat, including a double-overtime victory over Penn on Jan. 10. Dartmouth (9-9) seeks to end a five-game skid, most recently a lopsided 89-32 road loss to Columbia on Jan. 24. The Bears are led by forward Alyssa Moreland, who is coming off a strong stretch of play. In the loss to Princeton, Moreland recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds while adding five assists. Over her last five games, she is averaging 14.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per contest, showcasing her all-around impact. Dartmouth will counter with guard Cate MacDonald, who has been a consistent contributor. MacDonald posted 17 points and seven rebounds in a Jan. 3 loss to Harvard. While she was held to three points against Columbia, she leads the Big Green in scoring during Ivy play and will be a focal point of the home team’s offense. The matchup pits Brown’s more efficient offense against a Dartmouth team struggling to find consistency during its conference schedule. The Bears have shown resilience in close games, while the Big Green will rely on their home court to spark a turnaround. This game is the first of two regular-season meetings between the teams. They will meet again in Providence on Feb. 13. Following this contest, Brown will travel to face Harvard on Saturday. Dartmouth will remain at home to host Yale on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST.
