Hofstra Aims to Halt Skid Against Visiting William & Mary HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (Interstat) ā The Hofstra Pride will seek to end a five-game losing streak when they host the William & Mary Tribe in a Colonial Athletic Association womenās basketball matchup on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026. The game pits teams at opposite ends of the conference standings. William & Mary (9-8 overall) enters with momentum from a 63-50 road victory at Northeastern last Friday. Hofstra (3-15) has struggled, with its last win coming on Jan. 4, but has been competitive in several recent narrow defeats, including a 58-55 loss at Towson on Friday. A key matchup will feature two of the leagueās top performers. William & Mary is led by guard Cassidy Geddes, who is coming off a 20-point, 4-assist effort against Northeastern. Geddes has scored 18 or more points in three of her last six games and leads the Tribeās offensive attack. She will be countered by Hofstraās Sandra Magolico, a consistent force in the frontcourt. Magolico posted a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds in the loss to Towson, her third double-double in the last five contests. Her rebounding prowess will be critical against a William & Mary team that has shown resilience on the road. The Prideās recent woes have often stemmed from offensive droughts, scoring 67 points or fewer in 14 consecutive games. Containing Geddes and generating consistent scoring outside of Magolico and Alarice Gooden, who had 17 points against Towson, will be paramount. For William & Mary, building on its latest road win is the focus. Beyond Geddes, contributions from Kyah Smith (11 points vs. Northeastern) and Alexa Mikeska will be needed to navigate a challenging CAA schedule. Hofstra holds a 15-13 advantage in the all-time series, but William & Mary has won the last two meetings. The Pride will look to defend their home court and find a path to victory before embarking on a two-game road trip later this week.
