Preview: Towson Hosts Hofstra in Colonial Athletic Association Womenās Basketball Clash TOWSON, Md. (Interstat) ā The Towson Tigers look to solidify their standing in the Colonial Athletic Association when they host the struggling Hofstra Pride in a womenās basketball matchup Friday at SECU Arena. Tipoff is set for Jan. 23, 2026, in a conference rematch from just two weeks prior. Towson (10-7 overall) escaped with a 47-46 road victory over Hofstra on Jan. 9. The Tigers have since gone 2-2, including a 79-68 win over UNC Wilmington and a 43-55 loss at Stony Brook last Sunday. Hofstra (3-14) seeks to end a six-game losing streak, the most recent a heartbreaking 60-62 home loss to Northeastern on Jan. 18. The Pride have found wins elusive this season, with their last victory coming at UNC Wilmington on Jan. 4. A key matchup will feature two of the conferenceās top rebounders. Hofstraās Sandra Magolico, a player to watch, is coming off a 12-rebound performance against Northeastern and has recorded double-digit boards in four of her last seven games, including a 14-rebound effort at UNC Wilmington. She scored 10 points in the first meeting with Towson. For the Tigers, Semaya Turner anchors the interior. She grabbed 12 rebounds in the loss at Stony Brook and will be central to Towsonās efforts to control the paint. In the Jan. 9 win at Hofstra, Turner contributed 7 points. Hofstraās recent offensive struggles are a focal point. The Pride have failed to reach 50 points in four of their last five games. Beyond Magolico, they will rely on guards Chloe Sterling, who scored 20 points against Northeastern, and Alarice Gooden. Towson has shown resilience in close games, with three of their last five wins decided by six points or fewer. Protecting their home court will be critical as they navigate the middle of the CAA schedule. The Tigers hold a distinct advantage in season trajectory, but the narrow margin of their earlier win ensures the Pride will arrive with belief they can compete. Hofstra must find consistent scoring to challenge a Towson team aiming to stay above .500. The game is part of a full slate of CAA action this weekend. Towson will travel to Drexel on Sunday, while Hofstra will host William & Mary.
