The game, scheduled for Jan. 23, 2026, at the Templeton Center, features programs with a combined 8-30 overall record. Charleston Southern enters at 5-14, while Presbyterian sits at 3-16. Despite the struggles, both are coming off notably different recent performances. The Buccaneers look to snap a two-game skid after a 52-45 home loss to Gardner-Webb on Saturday. Their offense has often flowed through guard Caelan Ellis, who has been a consistent scoring threat. Ellis is averaging 16.1 points per game over her last seven contests, including a 26-point performance against Longwood on Jan. 7. She scored 14 in the most recent loss. Presbyterian, however, arrives with a surge of confidence after securing a rare road conference victory, 50-46 at Gardner-Webb on Wednesday. Freshman Aminata Tal led the way with a season-high 18 points in 30 minutes, a significant breakout after playing limited minutes in the preceding games. Her emergence provides a potential new offensive option alongside regular contributors Ja’Cia Cunningham and Krystal Haddock. Statistically, Charleston Southern holds the edge. National Statistical’s ELO system projects the Buccaneers with a 67% probability to win. The teams have followed similar paths this season, each with a win over UNC Asheville but also enduring lopsided non-conference losses to Power Five opponents like Georgia and Virginia Tech. The matchup will be the first of a home-and-home series this season, with the Blue Hose scheduled to visit Charleston Southern on Feb. 7.
