Preview: Skyhawks, Redhawks Meet in OVC Clash CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (Interstat) — Ohio Valley Conference women’s basketball rivals Tennessee-Martin and Southeast Missouri State will meet Tuesday night at the Show Me Center, with both teams looking to build on weekend victories. The Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks (8-8, 3-2 OVC) visit the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks (6-11, 2-3) in a mid-conference matchup. The Skyhawks are coming off a 73-70 home win over Lindenwood on Saturday, while the Redhawks defeated SIU Edwardsville 64-56 the same day. Tennessee-Martin will lean on the hot hand of guard Kenley McCarn. The standout scorer is averaging 24.3 points over her last three games, including a 40-point outburst in 39 minutes against Lindenwood. For the season, she has reached double figures in scoring in every game. Southeast Missouri State counters with guard Raissa Nsabua, a primary facilitator. She dished out seven assists in the win over SIU Edwardsville and is averaging 6.0 assists per game in conference play. The Skyhawks have won three of their last five, with all three victories coming at home. Their conference road record is 0-2, with losses at Southern Indiana and Morehead State earlier this month. The Redhawks have struggled for consistency, alternating wins and losses over their past six games. Their defense will be tested by McCarn and a Skyhawks offense that averages 69.1 points per game. In the teams’ most recent meeting last season, Southeast Missouri State won 78-73 in Cape Girardeau. They will meet again in Martin, Tennessee, on Feb. 17. Following this game, Southeast Missouri State hosts Arkansas-Little Rock on Thursday. Tennessee-Martin returns home to face Arkansas-Little Rock on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. CST Tuesday.
