Preview: Kansas Jayhawks at Arizona Wildcats TUCSON, Ariz. (Interstat) — Two teams seeking to halt slides in conference play will meet Tuesday night when the Kansas women’s basketball team visits the Arizona Wildcats at McKale Center. The Big 12 matchup features the Jayhawks (11-8) and Wildcats (10-7), both coming off road losses Saturday. Kansas fell 67-51 at Arizona State, while Arizona dropped a 78-62 decision at TCU. Kansas has lost five of its last six games, with its only win in that stretch an 83-68 victory at UCF on Jan. 4. The Jayhawks will lean on guard Jaliya Davis, who has been a consistent offensive bright spot. Davis is averaging 21.5 points over her last six games, including a 30-point performance in a loss to Oklahoma State on Jan. 14. She posted 11 points, five rebounds and four blocks in the loss to Arizona State. Arizona has lost four of its last five, with a 75-72 win over BYU on Jan. 6 as the lone exception. Guard Sumayah Sugapong has emerged as a key contributor, logging a team-high 37 minutes and scoring 17 points with four assists in the loss to TCU. Her role has expanded significantly since late December. The Wildcats will look to defend their home court, where they are 6-3 this season. Kansas is 3-4 in true road games. Both teams are in the middle tier of the expanded Big 12 and need a conference win to build momentum for the second half of the schedule. Tuesday’s game tips off at 8 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on the conference’s digital platform. Up Next: Kansas hosts Kansas State on Jan. 25. Arizona travels to face Iowa State on Jan. 24.
