IU Indy Looks to Build Momentum Against Horizon League Host Robert Morris COROAPOLIS, Pa. (Interstat) — The IU Indy Jaguars will look to carry the momentum from a rare conference win into a tough road test against the Robert Morris Colonials in a Horizon League women’s basketball matchup Thursday afternoon at the Charles L. Sewall Center. The Jaguars (6-10, 2-3 Horizon) snapped a three-game skid with a 70-59 home victory over Wright State on Sunday. Forward Ariana Williams posted a double-double in the win with 10 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks. Williams has been a key variable for IU Indy, scoring in double figures in three of her last five games, including a 14-point effort in a narrow loss at Wisconsin last month. That recent success, however, faces a stern challenge against a Colonial squad (11-5, 3-2) that has been strong at home. Robert Morris is coming off a hard-fought 81-76 loss to Northern Kentucky on Saturday, despite a 23-point performance from guard Aislin Malcolm. Malcolm has been a consistent offensive force, scoring 20 or more points in two of her last four games, including 20 in a win over Fort Wayne on Jan. 8. The Colonials have shown resilience, bouncing back from their two conference losses this season with immediate wins. Their league defeats came against current top-tier Horizon opponents Green Bay and Northern Kentucky. IU Indy’s road form remains a concern. The Jaguars are 1-7 in games away from Indianapolis this season, with their lone road win coming against non-conference opponent Wisconsin in a high-scoring affair. Their conference road games have resulted in losses by an average margin of 20 points. Robert Morris holds a distinct advantage in record and recent stability. The Jaguars will need another standout performance from Williams and scoring support from Olivia Smith and Nevaeh Foster, who combined for 28 points against Wright State, to challenge the Colonials on their home floor. Thursday’s contest is the first of two regular-season meetings between the teams. They are scheduled to play again in Indianapolis on Feb. 1. The game tips off at 7 p.m. EST.
