Preview: Purdue at Wisconsin Women’s Basketball MADISON, Wis. (Interstat) — The Wisconsin Badgers, riding a two-game winning streak, will host the struggling Purdue Boilermakers in a Big Ten Conference women’s basketball matchup Wednesday night at Kohl Center. Wisconsin (11-4 overall) is coming off a narrow 74-73 home victory over Penn State on Sunday. The Badgers have won four of their last five games, with the lone loss in that stretch a 97-59 defeat at then-Maryland. The Badgers are led by guard Kyrah Daniels, who is averaging 20 points over her last two contests. She scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the win over Penn State. Destiny Howell, who added 17 points against the Nittany Lions, provides a secondary scoring threat. Purdue (8-7) arrives in Madison seeking to halt a three-game skid, all against conference opponents. The Boilermakers fell 78-62 at Nebraska on Sunday. During their losing streak, they have allowed an average of 81 points per game. Boilermakers guard Tara Daye has been a consistent performer amid the losses. Over her last three games, she averaged 10.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists. Daye posted a triple-double earlier this season with 18 points, 11 rebounds and four assists in a win over Lipscomb on Dec. 11. The teams have followed divergent paths in recent weeks. Purdue’s last win was a 93-62 nonconference victory over Jackson State on Dec. 21. Wisconsin, meanwhile, has built its record with a 7-1 mark at home this season. Wednesday’s contest is the only scheduled meeting between the programs this regular season. Following this game, Purdue will host Washington in nonconference play Sunday. Wisconsin continues its conference schedule at Michigan on Sunday. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CST.
