Guard Amourie Porter powered the win with 25 points, continuing a streak of high-scoring performances. Over her last four games, Porter is averaging 18.0 points, including a 22-point outing at Virginia. Winthrop has shown resilience on the road this season, with notable nonconference wins at South Carolina State and Southern Illinois. The Spartans (5-11) have lost five of their last six, most recently a 72-58 home defeat to High Point. While struggling offensively, South Carolina Upstate has found a defensive anchor in forward Vera Soderblom. She grabbed 13 rebounds and blocked three shots against High Point, providing a consistent interior presence.
