Preview: Saint Bonaventure at Duquesne in Atlantic 10 Women’s Basketball PITTSBURGH (Interstat) — The Saint Bonaventure Bonnies look to rebound from a lopsided loss when they visit the Duquesne Dukes in an Atlantic 10 Conference women’s basketball matchup Wednesday night at A.J. Palumbo Center. The Bonnies (10-5, 1-1 A-10) enter having split their first two league games, most recently falling 80-60 to Richmond at home on Saturday. The Dukes (7-7, 0-2) are seeking their first conference win after road losses to Dayton and Saint Louis. Saint Bonaventure will lean on guard Aaliyah Parker, who scored 18 points in the loss to Richmond and is averaging 14.3 points over her last four games. Laycee Drake, who added 16 points and six rebounds against the Spiders, provides a secondary scoring threat. Duquesne counters with forward Harriet Ford, a dominant force on the boards. Ford grabbed a season-high 15 rebounds to go with seven points in the loss at Dayton. Her presence inside will be critical against a Bonnies team that has shown inconsistency. The Bonnies have been strong defensively for much of the season but allowed 80 points in their last outing. Containing Duquesne’s Nadia Moore, who scored 18 points against Dayton, will be a priority. Duquesne’s offense has struggled at times, scoring 61 or fewer points in three of its last five games. Generating offense against a Saint Bonaventure team allowing an average of 62.1 points per game presents a challenge. This begins a key stretch for both teams navigating the early conference schedule. The rematch is set for Feb. 7 in Olean, New York. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST Wednesday.
