Struggling Patriot League Teams Seek Momentum as Lafayette Visits Boston University BOSTON (Interstat) — Two teams looking to halt losing streaks in conference play will meet Wednesday when the Lafayette Leopards face the Boston University Terriers in a Patriot League women’s basketball matchup at Agganis Arena. Both sides enter with nearly identical overall records, as Lafayette sits at 5-8 and Boston University at 4-9. Each team is also seeking its first Patriot League victory of the new year after dropping their conference openers this past Saturday. The Leopards, however, carry some positive momentum from a 63-52 non-conference home win over Loyola Maryland on Jan. 3. Lafayette guard Haylie Adamski led the charge in that victory, scoring 24 points in 27 minutes. Adamski, a player to watch, has been a key offensive contributor, averaging double-digit points in her last three games. For the Terriers, the search for consistency continues after a 45-53 loss at American on Jan. 3. Boston University has lost four of its last five games, with the lone win in that stretch a 103-32 rout of non-Division I Maine-Fort Kent. Forward SiSi Bentley, a player to watch for the Terriers, is coming off a solid eight-rebound performance against American. Lafayette’s season has been marked by narrow defeats, including four losses by nine points or fewer. Boston University has struggled offensively against higher-caliber competition, failing to reach 50 points in losses to American, Albany, North Carolina and Maine. This game begins a critical stretch of conference play for both programs. The Leopards will host Navy on Saturday, while the Terriers travel to face Army. Wednesday’s contest tips off at 7 p.m. EST.
