JERSEY CITY, N.J. (Interstat) — The Manhattan Lady Jaspers will look to secure their first win of the season when they visit the Saint Peter’s Peacocks in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women’s basketball matchup on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026. Tipoff at the Yanitelli Center is set for a New Year’s Day game featuring two teams seeking momentum at the start of the conference slate. Manhattan (0-11) enters on an 11-game skid, while Saint Peter’s (3-9) aims to rebound from a lopsided loss in its last outing. The Lady Jaspers are led by guard Brianna Davis, who is coming off a 12-point, 7-assist performance in an 84-59 loss to Fairfield on Dec. 29. Over her last four games, Davis has averaged 11.3 points and 4.0 assists. Support has come from Hana MĂŒhl (14 points vs. Fairfield) and Colette Mulderig (13 points, 3 blocks). Saint Peter’s counters with forward De’Naya Rippey, who recorded a dominant 24-point, 14-rebound, 6-assist effort in an 81-72 win at Niagara on Dec. 21. Her consistency has been a bright spot, scoring in double figures in four of her last six contests. The Peacocks’ offense stalled badly in a 67-27 home loss to Quinnipiac on Monday, a performance they will be eager to put behind them. Historically, the Peacocks have struggled at home this season, posting a 1-5 record at the Yanitelli Center. Manhattan has yet to win on the road (0-6). Both defenses have faced challenges, with Manhattan allowing 70.5 points per game and Saint Peter’s yielding 62.8. This game opens the MAAC schedule for both programs. Manhattan’s search for a victory grows more urgent, while Saint Peter’s will view this as a prime opportunity to build confidence before a quick turnaround at Merrimack on Saturday.
