JERSEY CITY, N.J. (Interstat) — A surging Quinnipiac team visits a Saint Peter’s squad seeking momentum in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference women’s basketball matchup Monday at Yanitelli Center. The Bobcats (7-4) enter on a two-game win streak following a 76-67 road victory at Marist on Sunday. The Peacocks (3-8) snapped a five-game skid with their own impressive road win, 81-72 at Niagara, also on Sunday. Quinnipiac has found its rhythm offensively, averaging 77 points in its last two contests. A key catalyst has been sophomore forward Ella O’Donnell, who is coming off a versatile performance of 16 points, five rebounds and five assists in 24 minutes against Marist. Over her last five games, O’Donnell is averaging 10.8 points and 4.8 rebounds. Saint Peter’s will counter with the dynamic De’Naya Rippey, who is playing at an all-conference level. The guard erupted for 24 points, 14 rebounds and six assists in the win at Niagara, showcasing her ability to dominate multiple facets of the game. She has scored in double figures in six straight contests, averaging 14.3 points per game during that stretch. The Bobcats’ record is bolstered by strong non-conference wins over Boston College and Cornell. Their losses have come against Maine, College of Charleston, Saint John’s and Rutgers. Saint Peter’s has struggled against a challenging schedule, with losses to Rutgers, Seton Hall, Fordham and Army, but its decisive win over Niagara could signal a turnaround. Historically, Quinnipiac has dominated the series, winning the last 15 meetings. The teams last met on Feb. 24, 2025, with the Bobcats securing a 71-48 victory in Hamden, Connecticut. For Quinnipiac, a win would solidify its strong start to MAAC play and build confidence before hosting Iona on New Year’s Day. For Saint Peter’s, protecting its home court and building on Sunday’s breakthrough performance is critical as it looks to climb the conference standings ahead of its January 1 home game against Manhattan. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. EST Monday at the Yanitelli Center.
