FAIRFIELD, Conn. (Interstat) — A surging Fairfield women’s basketball team will look to extend its winning streak when it visits struggling Manhattan in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference matchup Monday night at Draddy Gymnasium. The Stags (8-3) enter on a four-game win streak, most recently defeating Merrimack 84-65 on Dec. 21. They are powered by standout guard Kaety L’Amoreaux, who is averaging 22.3 points over her last six games. She scored 23 points with nine rebounds in the win over Merrimack, following a 25-point, six-assist performance at Rider. Conversely, the Lady Jaspers (0-10) are still searching for their first victory. They are coming off a 78-39 loss at Quinnipiac on Dec. 19, where they were held under 40 points for the second time this season. Guard Hana MĂŒhl, a player to watch for Manhattan, had seven points and seven rebounds in that contest. The matchup presents a stark contrast in trajectories. Fairfield’s offense has been potent, scoring 80 or more points in five games this season. Manhattan has struggled to find consistent scoring, failing to reach 60 points in eight of its ten losses. For Fairfield, secondary contributors like Cyanne Coe (18 points vs. Merrimack) and Meghan Andersen (16 points, 7 assists) provide balance alongside L’Amoreaux. Manhattan will rely on MĂŒhl and forward Colette Mulderig, who had nine points and three blocks against Quinnipiac, to provide resistance. This game opens MAAC play for both teams. Fairfield’s conference schedule continues at home against Canisius on Jan. 1. Manhattan travels to face Saint Peter’s on Jan. 1. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. EST Monday in New York.
