Preview: Milwaukee Panthers at IU Indy Jaguars INDIANAPOLIS (Interstat) — Two Horizon League women’s basketball teams seeking momentum will meet Monday when the Milwaukee Panthers visit the IU Indy Jaguars at Fairgrounds Coliseum. Both sides enter the non-conference matchup with identical 4-9 overall records. The game serves as a final tune-up before each embarks on its league schedule in January. Milwaukee arrives following a 76-52 victory over Division III Wis. Lutheran on Dec. 20, which snapped a three-game skid. The Panthers have struggled against Division I competition, with their last such win coming against Ripon on Dec. 14. A key player for the Panthers is guard Grace Lomen, who is coming off a 21-point performance in 24 minutes against Wis. Lutheran. Over her last three games, Lomen is averaging 14.7 points. The IU Indy Jaguars are looking to rebound from a 72-81 loss at Wisconsin on Dec. 21. That game featured a breakout performance from guard Kamara Mills, who scored a season-high 21 points. Mills has shown scoring potential, posting 14 points in a loss to Fort Wayne on Dec. 3, but has been inconsistent. The Jaguars’ most convincing win was a 79-40 rout of IU Columbus on Dec. 17, but they have lost four of their last five games against Division I opponents. Historically, this is a developing conference rivalry, with both programs aiming to climb the Horizon League standings. The matchup will feature two guards in Lomen and Mills capable of carrying the offensive load for their respective teams. Following this game, Milwaukee opens its Horizon League slate at home against Robert Morris on Jan. 1. IU Indy begins conference play on the road at Northern Kentucky on Jan. 2. Tip-off is set for Monday, Dec. 29, at Fairgrounds Coliseum.
