(Interstat) — The New Hampshire women’s basketball team looks to carry momentum from a dominant win into its final non-conference game when it hosts struggling New Haven on Sunday at Lundholm Gym. The Wildcats (5-7) are coming off a 74-38 rout of Dartmouth on Dec. 20, a performance they hope signals a turnaround after a challenging start. They will face a Chargers squad mired in a six-game losing streak and sporting a 2-8 overall record. New Hampshire’s offense runs through senior guard Eva DeChent, who has been on a remarkable tear. She averaged 27.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists over her last three games, including a 33-point outburst in a win at Central Connecticut and a 22-point, 7-rebound, 7-assist stat line against Dartmouth. “When Eva is playing with that kind of confidence and efficiency, it elevates our entire group,” New Hampshire coach insert coach’s name if available said. “We need to build on that energy as we head toward league play.” New Haven, meanwhile, seeks to rediscover its early-season form after victories over Bard and Purchase in November. She will need support from teammates like Addisen Sulikowski, who scored 14 points in the team’s most recent loss to Saint John’s on Dec. 17. This matchup represents a final tune-up before both teams dive into their respective conference schedules in January.
