Preview: Southeastern Louisiana at Texas AUSTIN, Texas (Interstat) — The top-ranked Texas women’s basketball team puts its perfect record on the line Sunday when it hosts struggling Southeastern Louisiana at the Frank Erwin Center. The Longhorns (14-0) have dominated their schedule, winning by an average margin of 36.6 points. Their most recent victory was a 70-51 road win over South Dakota State on Dec. 21. Texas is led by star guard Rori Harmon, who is averaging 11.0 points and 9.4 assists over her last seven games. In that stretch, she has recorded four double-doubles, all via points and assists, including a 14-assist performance against Texas-Rio Grande Valley. Southeastern Louisiana (2-7) enters on a four-game losing streak, most recently falling 70-66 to Memphis on Dec. 20. The Lions have faced a difficult non-conference slate, including a 112-47 loss at Baylor on Dec. 3. Guard Lihi Azouri is coming off a season-high 22-point, seven-rebound effort against Memphis and will be a key player for the Lions. Texas’s defense has been stifling, holding opponents to 51.6 points per game. The Longhorns have also shown offensive balance, with Madison Booker (14 points) and Jordan Lee (17 points) joining Harmon as top contributors in the win over South Dakota State. For Southeastern Louisiana, Azouri, Natalie Huff and Fatime Seck provided most of the production in the narrow loss to Memphis. The Lions will need a similar collective effort to challenge the nation’s top team. This game concludes the non-conference schedule for both programs. Texas opens Southeastern Conference play at Missouri on Jan. 1. Southeastern Louisiana begins Southland Conference play at Incarnate Word on Dec. 31. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. CST Sunday.
