OMAHA, Neb. (Interstat) — The Omaha women’s basketball team, mired in a prolonged slump, seeks a rare victory when it faces Weber State in a nonconference matchup at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena on Sunday, December 21, 2025. The Mavericks (1-12) enter on a seven-game losing streak, including a 47-80 home loss to Southern Utah on Saturday. Omaha has struggled offensively all season, failing to reach 50 points in five of its last six contests. Weber State (5-5) arrives with momentum after a 68-60 road win at Loyola Marymount on Saturday. The Wildcats have won three of their last four games, with those victories coming by an average margin of 28 points. A key matchup will feature guards Regan Juenemann of Omaha and Hannah Robbins of Weber State. Juenemann is coming off a team-high 15 points against Southern Utah and has scored in double figures in three of her last seven games. Robbins has been a consistent force for the Wildcats, averaging 17 points over her last three games, including a 21-point performance in a win over La Sierra on Dec. 17. Omaha’s season has been defined by offensive struggles and defensive lapses. Since a 73-82 loss to Cal State Bakersfield on Nov. 20, the Mavericks have lost by an average of 33.4 points per game. Their lone win was a 69-77 defeat at Utah State on Nov. 15. Weber State has shown a stark contrast in results, performing well against lower-tier competition but falling to power conference opponents like Utah, BYU and South Dakota State. The game in Los Angeles offers a neutral-court opportunity to build a winning record before Big Sky Conference play begins in January. For Omaha, the contest represents a final chance to find footing before its next game against Briar Cliff on Dec. 27. Weber State will look to carry positive momentum into its conference opener at Portland State on Jan. 1. Tipoff is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at the historic Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena.
