GLEN ALLEN, Va. (Interstat) — The undefeated and No. 5-ranked Georgia Bulldogs put their perfect record on the line Sunday when they face the struggling Coppin State Eagles in the 2025-26 WBB 4 Tha Culture Holiday Classic. Georgia (12-0) enters the nonconference matchup riding significant momentum, having won each of its games by an average of 25.8 points. The Bulldogs are coming off a 72-53 victory over VCU on Friday, where guard Trinity Turner scored a game-high 23 points and dished five assists. Turner, a dynamic playmaker, has been a consistent force, averaging 11.5 points and 4.0 assists over her last five contests. “We’re focused on maintaining our intensity and playing our style of basketball,” Georgia coach Joni Taylor said. “Every game is an opportunity to improve before SEC play.” Conversely, Coppin State (2-11) seeks to halt a two-game skid after a 59-39 loss at Temple on Friday. The Eagles have faced a daunting early schedule, with losses to power-conference opponents like Oklahoma, Tennessee and Ohio State. Guard Patricia Sosa Lora, who led the Eagles with 12 points against Temple, will be a key factor. She has scored in double figures in two of her last three games. “We have to value possession and limit our mistakes against a team of Georgia’s caliber,” Coppin State coach Jermaine Woods said. “It’s about competing for 40 minutes.” The Bulldogs’ offense, which averages 78.2 points per game, will test an Eagles defense allowing 70.2 points per contest. Georgia’s balance is evident, with Mia Woolfolk (13 points vs. VCU) and Dani Carnegie (13 points vs. VCU) providing reliable scoring alongside Turner. This game marks the first-ever meeting between the two programs. Following this event, Georgia will host Charleston Southern on Dec. 29 before opening Southeastern Conference play at Mississippi on Jan. 1. Coppin State will travel to face George Washington on Dec. 28 before beginning Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference action at Delaware State on Jan. 3. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. EST at the Glen Allen Sports Complex.
