Preview: Oregon Faces Stanford in Top-15 Women’s Basketball Clash SAN FRANCISCO (Interstat) — A marquee nonconference women’s basketball matchup is set for Sunday when the No. 3-ranked Oregon Ducks visit the Stanford Cardinal at Dante Benedetti Diamond at Max Ulrich Field. The Ducks (12-1), whose only loss came at then-UCLA on Dec. 7, bring one of the nation’s most potent offenses into the contest, averaging 75.2 points per game. They are riding a four-game winning streak, including an 85-59 rout of Portland on Thursday. Sophomore guard Mia Jacobs has been a catalyst, scoring 21 points in just 20 minutes in that victory. Over her last five games, Jacobs is averaging 15.2 points. Stanford (9-2), the perennial Pac-12 power, looks to defend its home court after a 78-69 victory over California on Dec. 14. The Cardinal’s losses are by a combined nine points to Tennessee and Florida Gulf Coast. They are led by junior forward Courtney Ogden, who erupted for a season-high 25 points against Cal. Ogden averages 14.2 points in games where she plays at least 26 minutes. This game features a compelling contrast. Oregon’s high-speed attack, which has topped 80 points six times, will test a disciplined Stanford defense allowing just 59.5 points per game. The Cardinal will need to contain Oregon’s transition game and find consistent scoring beyond Ogden to keep pace. The venue, typically a baseball field configured for basketball, adds a unique backdrop for this late-December showdown. It marks one of the final major tests for both teams before conference play intensifies in January. For Oregon, a win would solidify its top-five standing and provide major momentum heading into a brutal Big Ten schedule. For Stanford, a victory would serve as a signature resume-builder for March and affirm its status among the nation’s elite. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. PST on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025.
