Preview: Bradley Braves at Northern Kentucky Norse HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. (Interstat) — The Bradley women’s basketball team, riding a three-game winning streak, visits a struggling Northern Kentucky squad in a non-conference matchup Sunday at Regents Hall. The Braves (7-4) enter with momentum after a 64-47 victory over Southern Illinois on Thursday. Guard Mya Wardle has been instrumental, averaging 14 points and seven assists in that win and posting 10 points and six assists in a Nov. 29 victory over Abilene Christian. Over her last seven games, Wardle has been a consistent facilitator for an offense that has scored 80 or more points three times this season. Northern Kentucky (3-10) looks to snap a four-game skid, most recently a 74-56 loss at Cleveland State on Tuesday. The Norse have relied on the scoring of guard Karina Bystry, who poured in 20 points against Cleveland State and 21 in a Dec. 11 loss at Ohio State. However, defensive consistency has been an issue, as the Norse have allowed 70 or more points in eight of their 10 losses. Bradley’s recent success has been built at home, but they are 1-2 in true road games this season. Northern Kentucky is 2-3 at Regents Hall. The matchup features a contrast in styles: Bradley’s balanced, Wardle-led attack against a Norse team dependent on Bystry’s offensive bursts. This game concludes the non-conference slate for both programs. Bradley opens Missouri Valley Conference play Jan. 2 at Belmont. Northern Kentucky begins Horizon League action Dec. 29 at Fort Wayne. Tipoff is scheduled for Sunday afternoon.
