Preview: Kennesaw State Owls at Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes CORAL GABLES, Fla. (Interstat) ā The Miami Hurricanes look to build on a tight road win and continue their nonconference schedule when they host the Kennesaw State Owls in womenās basketball on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025, at Watsco Center. Miami (7-4) is coming off a 64-61 victory at Wake Forest on Thursday, powered by a breakout performance from guard Meredith Tippnrer. The sophomore, who had seen limited minutes in prior games, exploded for 19 points in 21 minutes off the bench. Her backcourt mate, Amarachi Kimpson, added 17 points in the win. The Hurricanesā season has been marked by volatility, including a 26-point loss to North Carolina State and a narrow overtime win at George Washington. The visiting Owls (5-3) arrive with momentum after a 69-63 win at Georgia State last Sunday. Kennesaw State is led by guard Trynce Taylor, who logged 40 minutes in that victory, finishing with 16 points, nine rebounds and three assists. Forward Shania Nichols added a team-high 19 points. Taylor has been a consistent contributor, averaging 8.5 points and 5.4 rebounds per game this season. This matchup presents a contrast in competition levels. Miami, a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference, has faced a rigorous slate including Iowa, Kentucky and Oklahoma State. Kennesaw State, out of the ASUN Conference, has played one Power Five opponent, falling 79-65 at Alabama on Dec. 1. For the Hurricanes, maintaining consistency will be key after Tippnrerās promising showing. For the Owls, containing Miamiās backcourt and finding secondary scoring behind Taylor and Nichols will be critical to pulling an upset on the road. This is the first meeting between the programs. Following this game, Miami hosts Stetson on Dec. 28 before opening ACC play at Virginia Tech on Jan. 1. Kennesaw State returns home to face Life University on Dec. 29. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. EST at Watsco Center on the University of Miami campus.
