Preview: Maine Black Bears at Harvard Crimson CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (Interstat) — The Harvard women’s basketball team looks to continue its winning momentum at home when it hosts the Maine Black Bears at Lavietes Pavilion on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025. Harvard (6-5) enters the non-conference matchup riding a three-game winning streak, most recently a dominant 67-33 victory over Stony Brook on Dec. 5. The Crimson have found success through balanced contributions. In that win, Abigail Wright scored 22 points with eight rebounds, while Saniyah Glenn nearly posted a triple-double with 14 points, seven rebounds, nine assists and five blocks. Maine (4-8) snapped a three-game skid with a 63-55 road win at Quinnipiac on Dec. 14. The Black Bears are led by standout guard Adrianna Smith, who is averaging 17.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. Smith has been a consistent force, scoring in double figures in nine of her last ten contests, including a triple-double of 19 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists against Saint Francis (PA) on Nov. 29. The Crimson have shown resilience after a tough early-season stretch, with their defense holding opponents to an average of 45.3 points during their current streak. Maine, conversely, has struggled offensively at times, scoring 58 points or fewer in six of its eight losses this season. This game represents a final non-conference tune-up for both squads before each embarks on its respective conference schedule in January. Harvard will begin Ivy League play, while Maine will turn its focus to America East competition. For Maine, containing Harvard’s interior presence of Wright and Glenn will be critical. The Black Bears will rely heavily on Smith’s all-around play and the supporting scoring of players like Asta Blauenfeldt, who added 15 points in the Quinnipiac win. Tip-off is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at Lavietes Pavilion.
