Preview: Merrimack Warriors at Fairfield Stags BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Interstat) — A surging Fairfield women’s basketball team will look to extend its winning streak when it hosts struggling Merrimack in a nonconference matchup organized by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025, at Webster Bank Arena. The Stags (7-3) enter on a three-game win streak, most recently routing Rider 84-58 on Friday. They have averaged 83.7 points per game during the stretch, powered by standout guard Kaety L’Amoreaux. The junior is coming off a 25-point, six-assist performance against Rider and has scored 23 or more points in three of her last five games, including a 31-point outburst in a win at Richmond on Dec. 7. Fairfield’s offense, which also features productive forward Meghan Andersen, will face a Merrimack team that has lost three straight and four of its last five. The Warriors (3-6) are allowing an average of 71.2 points per game this season. Their most recent outing was a 70-60 home loss to Brown on Dec. 9. Merrimack will rely on forward Oralye Kiefer to provide a spark. Kiefer leads the team and is coming off a 19-point, four-block effort in the loss to Brown. She has scored in double figures in three consecutive games. The Warriors’ season has been defined by road struggles, with a 1-5 record away from home. Their lone road win was a narrow 59-57 victory at Dartmouth on Dec. 2. Fairfield is 3-0 at home this season, winning those contests by an average margin of 22.7 points. This game serves as a final nonconference tune-up for both programs before each embarks on its MAAC schedule in early January. For Fairfield, it’s a chance to solidify momentum. For Merrimack, it’s an opportunity to find footing against a high-caliber opponent before returning home to face Mount Saint Mary’s on Dec. 29. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST at Webster Bank Arena.
