Preview: William & Mary Tribe at Stetson Hatters DELAND, Fla. (Interstat) — A surging William & Mary women’s basketball team aims to continue its winning streak against a Stetson squad enjoying a strong start to the season when the teams meet Friday at Edmunds Center. The Tribe (5-4) enters on a four-game winning streak, most recently defeating Coppin State 72-65 at home on Dec. 13. William & Mary has found its form after a 1-4 start, with all four victories coming on the road. Stetson (6-2) presents a significant challenge, having won six of its last seven games. The Hatters’ most notable result is a 70-67 road victory over UCF on Dec. 3. Their only losses are to Power Five opponent Alabama and Towson. William & Mary will lean on the consistent play of guard Natalie Fox, who has been instrumental during the streak. Over the last five games, Fox is averaging 13.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per contest. She scored 18 points with four assists in the win over Coppin State, following a 15-point, six-rebound, five-assist performance at American. For Stetson, balance has been key. In the win over UCF, Cameron Thomas erupted for 35 points while Mary McMillan added 15. The Hatters have scored 70 or more points in five of their eight games this season. The matchup pits William & Mary’s recent momentum against Stetson’s efficient early-season record. The Tribe’s streak has featured tighter victories, including a 67-64 win at Wake Forest and the recent seven-point win over Coppin State. Stetson has showcased offensive firepower, including an 89-point outing at Northern Kentucky and a 105-point season-opening rout of Warner. This is a standalone non-conference game for both programs before each embarks on a busy holiday schedule. William & Mary remains in Florida to face Bethune-Cookman in DeLand on Saturday. Stetson hosts Stonehill on Saturday before a Dec. 28 road test at Miami (Fla.). Tip-off is set for Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, at Edmunds Center on the Stetson University campus.
