CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Interstat) — The Chattanooga Lady Mocs look to continue their winning momentum when they host the Western Kentucky Lady Toppers in nonconference women’s basketball Friday at McKenzie Arena. Chattanooga (6-5) enters on a two-game win streak, most recently routing Tennessee State 81-51 on Dec. 11. The Lady Mocs are led by dynamic guard Caia Elisaldez, who is coming off a 23-point, 7-assist performance in that victory. Over her last five games, Elisaldez is averaging 18.2 points and 7.4 assists, including an 11-assist outing in a win over Bellarmine. Western Kentucky (4-6) snapped a three-game skid with a dominant 80-50 road win at North Dakota on Dec. 14. The Lady Toppers will rely on guard Trinity Rowe, who orchestrated the victory with 11 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists. Rowe’s playmaking will be critical against Chattanooga’s defense. The matchup pits Chattanooga’s more consistent offense against a Western Kentucky team seeking road consistency. The Lady Toppers’ wins have been decisive, but their losses have often been by wide margins, including an 80-42 defeat at Longwood and a 70-41 loss at Illinois. This is the final nonconference tune-up for Chattanooga before it opens Southern Conference play in January. Western Kentucky concludes its nonconference slate before a break ahead of its Conference USA opener on Jan. 2. Tipoff is set for Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, in Chattanooga.
