Undefeated TCU Hosts Jacksonville in Nonconference Showdown FORT WORTH, Texas (Interstat) â The unbeaten and No. 1-ranked Texas Christian Lady Frogs will put their perfect record on the line Sunday when they host the surging Jacksonville Dolphins in a nonconference womenâs basketball game at Dickies Arena. TCU (10-0), off to its best start in program history, has dominated its schedule, winning by an average margin of 38.2 points. Their most recent outing was a 95-40 demolition of UTEP on Dec. 6, highlighted by a triple-double from star guard Olivia Miles. The senior is averaging 17.4 points, 7.5 assists and 6.4 rebounds per game, orchestrating one of the nationâs most potent offenses. âOlivia sets the tone for us in every facet,â TCU coach Mark Campbell said. âHer vision and competitiveness are infectious.â Jacksonville (6-1) arrives with confidence, riding a five-game winning streak since a season-opening loss at Florida. The Dolphins are coming off a 68-51 win over Coastal Carolina on Dec. 6, where guard Tatum Brown led the way with 13 points. Brown, averaging 8.1 points per game, has been a consistent contributor during the streak. âWe know the challenge ahead is monumental,â Jacksonville coach Special Jennings said. âTCU is elite. For us, itâs about embracing the moment, controlling our pace, and being disciplined defensively.â The matchup presents a stark contrast in resumes. TCUâs perfect start includes a notable 69-59 road win at then-North Carolina State. Jacksonvilleâs schedule has been lighter, though it features a solid 69-64 road victory at Georgia Tech. The Lady Frogsâ firepower extends beyond Miles. Maddie Scherr scored 21 points in the win over UTEP, and forward Marta SuĂĄrez adds 14.3 points per game. TCU leads the nation in scoring offense (89.1 ppg) and field goal percentage defense (.309). Jacksonville will counter with a balanced attack. Alongside Brown, Priscilla Williams (13 points vs. Coastal Carolina) and Carmaya Bowman provide scoring options. The Dolphins will need a near-perfect game to handle TCUâs defensive pressure, which forces over 24 turnovers per game. This is the first meeting between the programs. For TCU, it is the final tune-up before a Dec. 20 Big 12 Conference showdown with Kansas State. Jacksonville continues a tough road stretch, visiting Texas Tech on Dec. 17. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. CST Sunday at Dickies Arena.
