Preview: Middle Tennessee at Southern Indiana EVANSVILLE, Ind. (Interstat) — The Southern Indiana women’s basketball team looks to continue its strong start when it hosts Middle Tennessee at the Physical Activities Center on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025. The Screaming Eagles (5-2) enter with a winning record, while the visiting Blue Raiders (4-5) seek consistency after a up-and-down opening month. Southern Indiana is coming off a 56-41 road victory at East Tennessee State last Saturday, a defensive performance that held its opponent to 27.1% shooting. Southern Indiana’s offense is powered by Chloe Gannon, who is averaging 17.3 points per game. She scored 22 points in the win over ETSU and had 21 points and four blocks in a narrow overtime loss at Northern Kentucky on Nov. 30. Middle Tennessee snapped a two-game skid with a 60-51 home win over Memphis last Sunday. The Blue Raiders are led by forward Blair Baugus, who is coming off a dominant 19-point, 14-rebound performance in that victory. Baugus has scored 17 or more points in four of her last six games, establishing herself as a primary scoring and rebounding threat. Southern Indiana’s schedule has featured several lopsided wins, including victories of 63 and 55 points over non-Division I opponents Fisk and Indiana East. Its two losses came by a combined 13 points, including the overtime defeat at Northern Kentucky. Middle Tennessee has faced a challenging slate, with losses to Power Five opponents Tennessee, Mississippi State, and Belmont. Their defense, which held Memphis to 51 points, will be tested by Gannon and the Screaming Eagles’ attack. This non-conference matchup is the first meeting between the programs. Following this game, Southern Indiana hosts Arkansas-Little Rock on Dec. 18, while Middle Tennessee returns home to face Auburn on Dec. 16. Tip-off is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at the Physical Activities Center.
