Preview: California Baptist at UC Irvine Women’s Basketball IRVINE, Calif. (Interstat) — A surging UC Irvine women’s basketball team looks to extend its six-game winning streak when it hosts California Baptist on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at the Bren Events Center. The Anteaters (8-2) have been dominant during their streak, winning by an average margin of 26.8 points. Their most recent victory was a 72-46 road win at Cal State Northridge on Dec. 6, powered by a career-high 31 points and eight rebounds from standout guard Hunter Hernandez. Hernandez has been a consistent force, averaging 18.1 points over her last seven games. California Baptist (6-3) aims to rebound from a narrow 82-80 road loss at Boise State last Saturday. The Lancers have shown offensive firepower but have dropped two of their last three contests. Guard Khloe Lemon, who scored 26 points in the loss to Boise State, leads the charge. She is averaging 14.2 points per game this season. UC Irvine’s defense has been a cornerstone of its success, holding opponents to 50.8 points per game during the winning streak. The Anteaters will need to contain Lemon and a Lancers’ offense that averages 71.2 points per game. California Baptist will counter with its own defensive pressure, led by Emma Johansson, who recorded six blocks against Boise State. The Lancers have held opponents to 62.7 points per game this season. This nonconference matchup serves as a final tune-up before both teams enter league play in January. UC Irvine begins Big West Conference action on Jan. 1, while California Baptist starts Western Athletic Conference play on Dec. 29. The game tips off at 2 p.m. PST at the Bren Events Center on the UC Irvine campus.
