Preview: George Washington at Delaware Womenâs Basketball NEWARK, Del. (Interstat) â Two teams riding winning streaks will meet Wednesday when the Delaware Blue Hens host the George Washington Revolutionaries in a nonconference womenâs basketball game at the Bob Carpenter Center. Delaware (5-2) has won four straight, most recently a 70-64 overtime victory at Colgate on Dec. 5. George Washington (5-5) has won three consecutive games, including a 53-48 home win against Brown on Saturday. The Revolutionaries are led by guard Gabby Reynolds, who is averaging 20.3 points over her last four games. She scored a team-high 20 points with five rebounds in the win over Brown. Forward Emma Theodorsson adds a presence inside, coming off a 10-point, seven-rebound performance. The Blue Hens counter with guard Safi Kolliegbo, a consistent contributor who played 36 minutes and scored 12 points in the overtime win at Colgate. Delawareâs offense has shown balance, with Andeâa Cherisier (17 points) and Kailah Correa (14 points) also providing key scoring in that contest. George Washingtonâs recent surge followed a 1-5 start. The Revolutionariesâ defense has been pivotal during the streak, holding opponents to an average of 48.7 points in the three wins. Delawareâs current run includes a 91-80 victory over Towson on Nov. 30, showcasing its offensive capability. The Blue Hensâ two losses this season came in overtime at Old Dominion and by seven points to Navy. This matchup is the first of a two-game homestand for Delaware before it hosts La Salle on Dec. 17. George Washington will return home to face American on Dec. 14. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST Wednesday.
