The Redhawks (6-3) enter on a high note after a 75-71 overtime road victory against Cincinnati on Wednesday. Guard Tamar Singer was instrumental in the win, playing 42 minutes and finishing with 24 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Singer, who leads Miami’s offense, has averaged 16.3 points and 7.6 assists over her last three games. Forward Amber Tretter added 21 points and 11 rebounds against Cincinnati for her third double-double of the season. Western Kentucky (3-5) seeks to snap a two-game skid following a narrow 47-44 home loss to Florida Atlantic on Wednesday. The Lady Toppers have struggled offensively, failing to reach 50 points in three of their five losses this season. Guard Torri James, Western Kentucky’s primary scoring threat, led the team with 12 points in the loss to FAU. James has averaged 10.3 points over her last four contests. The Redhawks have shown resilience in close games, with a 3-1 record in contests decided by single digits. Western Kentucky is 1-2 in such games, with its only close win coming in overtime against Wichita State on Nov. 11. This matchup begins a challenging two-game road swing for the Lady Toppers, who visit North Dakota on Dec. 14. Miami (Ohio) faces a tough test at Colorado on Dec. 13 before returning home to host Green Bay on Dec. 22. Sunday’s game tips off at 2 p.m. EST.
