CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (Interstat) — The Chattanooga Lady Mocs look to get back above .500 when they host the struggling Bellarmine Knights in a nonconference women’s basketball game Sunday at McKenzie Arena. Chattanooga (4-5) is coming off a narrow 66-64 road loss at UC Santa Barbara on Nov. 29. The Lady Mocs have shown resilience, with three of their five losses decided by 10 points or fewer. Forward Gianna Corbitt has been a consistent force, averaging 16.3 points and 6.6 rebounds over her last seven games. She nearly posted a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds in the loss to UCSB. Bellarmine (2-8) seeks to halt a six-game skid, most recently a 90-41 defeat at Illinois on Tuesday. The Knights’ offense has frequently stalled, scoring 63 points or fewer in eight of their 10 games. Guard Triniti Ralston provides a bright spot, capable of explosive performances as seen in a 25-point, seven-rebound effort against Eastern Illinois on Nov. 29 and a 22-point, 15-rebound, seven-assist outing in an overtime win at Wright State on Nov. 19. The matchup pits Chattanooga’s seeking consistency against a Bellarmine team desperate for a turnaround. The Lady Mocs have defended their home court well, going 3-1 at McKenzie Arena this season. Bellarmine, in its first season under coach Chancellor Dugan, is 0-7 in true road games. This is the first meeting between the programs. Following this game, Chattanooga travels to Tennessee State on Thursday. Bellarmine continues a difficult road stretch at Arizona on Dec. 18. Tipoff is set for Sunday afternoon.
