NEWTON, Mass. (Interstat) — The Virginia women’s basketball team cruised to an 81-55 road victory over Boston College in Atlantic Coast Conference play Sunday at Silvio O. Conte Forum. The Cavaliers (7-3, 1-0 ACC) seized control with a 26-point first quarter and never relented, holding the Eagles (4-8, 0-1) to 29.7% shooting from the floor. Virginia’s defense forced 16 turnovers and blocked nine shots. Paris Clark led Virginia with 13 points, six rebounds and five assists. Kymora Johnson added 13 points and nine assists. Tabitha Amanze posted an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double. Athena Tomlinson scored 15 points for Boston College in front of a crowd of 836. Virginia next hosts Howard on Wednesday, while Boston College hosts Bryant on Tuesday.

The Cavaliers (6-3) visit the Eagles (4-7) at Silvio O. Conte Forum. Virginia had its four-game win streak snapped with a 68-81 loss at Vanderbilt on Wednesday. Boston College enters having lost four straight, including a 49-76 home defeat to Quinnipiac on Wednesday. Virginia’s offense runs through dynamic guard Kymora Johnson. The sophomore is averaging 20.2 points over her last five games, including a 22-point, 7-assist effort in the loss at Vanderbilt. She has scored 20 or more points in four of her last five outings.
